Depends all on how the car was taken care of. My 1984 244 has almost 200K on it, but every time I bring it into the shop to get an oil change the engine never ceases to amaze the mechanics. They say they never heard a 240 engine EVER run as good as this one, mind you they're volvo mechanics. So what I'm trying to say is that if the car was well maintained, there isn't a single reason this car could last you for however long you want it to last for. The B231 and B230 engines in my opinion are the best engines ever made.
