I've got a really dirty engine. And engine bay. Any good ideas how to clean it up? 700

My 88 744t with 254k just erupted with a nice oil leak due to my negligence of its motor mounts, consequently ruining the oil return tube's gasket. Whenever the turbo spools up oil p-o-u-r-s out from the port in the block and has somehow managed to work its way pretty much everywhere (not to mention the caked on sludge from the PO). I've already replaced the mounts.

I'd like to clean it up spik and span. The motor is REALLY dirty meaning that spraying it with GUNK and rinsing it of isn't really an option. Has anyone steam cleaned their engine/bay? How much did it cost and are you happy with the results? Has anyone taken the high pressure car wash route? I keep seeing all of my quasi-rusted/rotted parts and pieces in my engine bay going down the drain everytime I think of doing that.

All suggestions are appreciated.
