Starter, or...? 200 1991

a loud and single 'click' with the starter only means one thing. your solinoid contacts are burnt and have extremely high resistance. this is a problem on the control side of the starting circuit so you wouldn't notice lights dimming or accesories not working.

it may come and go, some times a start, sometimes a no start. you will probably only get about a dozen more starts out of it or less, under normal conditions. You could just replace the solinoid, but it may be a better idea to just replace the whole starter, easy to do and takes about 1 hour give/take .5 hrs.

regardless, look forward to replacing your starter!!

good luck
