1988 760 Ground Wires Firewall to ? 700 1988

Hello,

I'm trying to correct a no start problem. I came across a ground wire that comes off the firewall and is not connected to anything. Don't know if this has any connection to my problem. There are actually 2 ground wires: 1 going to a valve cover stud (the shorter ground wire) and a longer ground wire (the one I'm trying to figure out where it goes). I've been unable to find an answer after looking at wiring diagrams. Anyone out there with a '88 760 willing to look under their hood?
