engine noise 700 1986

Hello,
Thanks for your suggestions. The noise is quieter when warm but still noticable in the cabin and only makes the noise when it is idling, no noise under accelaration. How would you unstick a stuck valve? I will check it all over tomorrow for looseness and get my oil replaced very soon. The flame trap and everything was all blocked when I bought it some 22 months ago so I replaced and cleaned the components and did the jiggle test to confirm it is working. The previous owner didnt maintain it very well and I have spent £1000 pounds on bringing the car to good condition but like it very much, I am the 4th owner. Thanks James.
