I am in the process of replacint the water pump and mechanical fan on our 89 240. The water pump has a lot of play in it. I haven't disassembled anything yet.
While I had the car up on jack stands I noticed a small coolant drip coming from the back of the engine block on the passenger side about 6 inches below the coolant drain. I checked and reckecked to make sure its not the coolant drain. Its not. The whole area between the drain and the leak below is completely dry. It seems to becoming from an area where there is a pipe either going into the engine block or is very very clost to. What am I looking at here? Is there a seal on this pipe I have to replace? Thanks for your help.
