Headlight relay - '89 765 700 1989

My right low beam recently went out. I replaced the bulb, but it wasn't the bulb. The fuse is OK and the left low beam and both high beams work. Headlight relay clicks when the lights are turned on or off.

Does this indicate a cooked contact in the relay? Any other diagnostic steps I can take before coughing up some dough for the relay? How do you get that bugger out of the socket? I can see two retaining clips on the side towards the radio, but I can't figure for the life of me how to release the other (front) side, since it's jammed in against another relay...
