Deck the halls with WARNING LIGHTS! Help me with SRS & Check Engine Please

I don't know about the SRS light but for the other one are you sure it isn't the "SERVICE" light?

The SERVICE light reminds you to do the scheduled maintaince for your car. It comes on for two minutes every time you start the car untill it's reset. Then it will come on again at whatever is the service interval for your car.

On my '88 745t the light does not come on at all. I believe it will for a NA car.

On the '95 945na it comes on at 10,000 miles. And for the '95 turbos, 5,000 miles.

They reset differently also...if the '88 745 service light was hooked up it would reset from the back of the instrument cluster. The '95 945 has a round plug in the front of the cluster- remove the plug and push the reset button.

For your '89 I'm guessing it resets from the rear. If there is no little rubber plug in the front of your cluster it for sure resets from the rear. There is likely something in the FAQ's about this.

I don't know much about CHECK ENGINE lights but I don't think they turn themselves off. You have to reset the codes somehow. (and fix the whatever is causing the light to come on)

Happy holidays,
chuck
