Head gasket replacement planned.... 700 1986

I'm planning on replacing the head gasket on my 1986 740 turbo.
Working on exhaust side of things has me worried...
I see broken studs...and bruised knuckles...
I will remove the nuts that attach exhaust manifold to the head.
With intake manifold removed, and head bolts removed, can I push
the head to the right, away from exhaust manifold, and get it out ?
I don't want to mess with turbo oil lines, since they are so fragile.
It appears that this may work. Has anyone done it this way ?
