Are Mann and Volvo oil filters identical? 200

I know Mann makes Volvo filters, but have always paid for a Volvo filter - for 142,000 miles of oil changes. The dealer told me when we bought the car that the check valve would help the engine last. Now, we are too far from a dealer to make picking one up convenient.

I am thinking about using Mann - do they have the same spring-loaded cup on the inside? Are all other aspects the same?

Thanks, as always, for the help!

Dave
