Tranny question? S90-V90

Santa was queit good this year, new XM radio that can be taken from place to place and Gore Tex Blue Jeans no less. Here in Southwestern Va. temp is down to low 20's and for the first time in years I belive I could go out and have a round of golf in this type of weather and it not give me any bother. Very warm and most comfortable.
I'm getting a loud poping sound from the back of my station wagon, independent rear drivetrain, happens when it cocked up in turns.
I have tried to reproduce the noise in empty parking lots by turning in circles going around and around in both directions but,no go on making it pop, it just does it when ever but not when induced (sorta like the wife).
Tried looking at the bushings but can't tell whats going on, coming from the back drivers side, that much has been deduced. Thank goodness it's not the differintial.
Any and all points app.

Thanks greatly for all the good info
