delayed transmission shifting 900

The 92 940 I bought recently has an automatic transmission issue. When I shift from park to drive about 1/3rd of the time there is a 2-3 second delay before it drops into gear. Seems to happen more often when the car is warmed up - less likely to occur when I shift a just started cold engine. I ran the car for 5 miles with a can of transmission cleaner, then flushed and added Mobil synthetic ATF. Still acts the same. Hope I don't have a serious problem here. Any easy fixes available? Thanks in advance for any advice.
