Absolutely! I’ve made many purchases on Ebay – but buyer beware... Ebay is the pawn shop of the electronic age.

The vast majority of Ebayers are honest people selling their personal items (an electronic "yard sale" if you will).
But Ebay can also be a bonanza for crooks.

10 years ago, if a crook wanted to make any money jacking cars, he had to have a network of local "connections" (body shops/salvage yards/etc.) who would buy the parts he stripped off the vehicle. This meant that even if the average petty thief could score a $60,000 Mercedes, he had no way to cash in on it.
Now through the magic of Ebay, he can safely sell parts to unsuspecting buyers half a continent away.

I’d be very surprised if Ebay hasn’t increased the theft rate of many cars.
