flywheels and idoits 700 1989

Im sort of in the same dilemma. I recently replaced my engine and did not index the flywheel. Its a 1 in 8 chance that the flywheel is on right but the car runs fine when warmed up. sO Im assuming it if. What luck if I did!! I just cant get it started after sitting for over 5 hours. I have not removed the starter to check the flywheel pos. (too freezin here)
but I dont see how the car could run correctly with the flywheel index off the mark.
