960 horn switch replacement 900

My '93 960's steering wheel supposedly needs replacement ( according to the local dealer and they want $600!). When I bought the car, the airbag in the steering wheel was slightly loose. I took the car in to the dealer and had them tighten the bolts holding the airbag to the steering wheel. They had to disconnect the horn when the bolts were tightened because they said it would honk all of the time if they didn't. They want to replace the entire steering wheel to fix the problem. My thinking is that there should be a contact switch in there that can be replaced instead of replacing the entire wheel. I'm going to take the airbag out to checkout this switch ( after disconnecting the negative from the battery of course).

Thanks in advance.

Dave
