I removed the compensation board and replaced it with a jumper between pin 1 and 3 the same day I did the 940 electric fan conversion on our 89 240. Temp gauge works great now. The electric fan kicks in right at the half way point. Temp never gets past that point. But when I'm on the highway the temp stays right around 1/4. In traffic it comes back to around half way.
Should the engine be running this cold on the highway? I replaced the thermostat about 3 months ago with a generic one from the local Kragen. I think its a 180 degree thermostat.
Thanks for the help.
