no warning lights and no start 700 1986

The only relay I could find relating to starting was for the fuel pump. That seems to be ok. I would like to find out what controls the dash warning lights. I removed all the relays one at a time and the warning lights still worked. Again this morning I had to try many times to start it. Whenever the dash warning lights don't go on, it won't start. As soon as they do go on, it starts. Maybe it does have something to do with the ignition switch as Shifted suggested.
