960 synthetic oil 900 1993

I am seriously considering switching to Amsoil in my 93 96 with 94K miles.
I live in central Texas where the winters generally stay above 15 F and the summers are between 100 and 110 F. I already have a case of Mann oil filters and will use those. This car sees much around town and occasional highway use. I hope to increase the highway mileage soon.

What weight Amsoil would be appropriate? I would like to increase the mpg along with the oil change longevity. The car is not hotrodded.

Does the rearend grease make a significant difference?
Is the extreme condition 0w-30 worth the additional cost?

Thank you,
Michael Diamante
