Day running light 700

I don't have DRL on my '87 740 but I did have the same problem with my 94 Quest mini-van. It turn out to be the control module. DRL only powerup the right side headlight and work fine when the headlight is turnon. The problem presisted for about a month and finally failed with the left side dead regardless what setting the headlight switch is at. Replacing the mod clear the problem. I still have the old mod, will open it one day and check for cold solder or dead relay.
