'87 740 GLE Wagon Stopped running 700 1987

Could be your Radio Supression relay, mounted near the water reservoir on the passenger side strut tower. This relay controls your injectors. Swap it with the AC auxliary cooling fan relay & see if it starts.

The most likely culprit is the Hall sensor in your distributor. As you crank the engine watch your tach needle to see if it jumps. If it doesn't your Hall sensor is likely dead. Also check for spark to confirm this. If it is bad try to find a whole distributor at a junk yard. I replaced my sensor but it is a pins & needles type job. For more info see the FEATURES pull-down menu above/ 700/900 FAQs.

Good LucK & Happy New Year
