Hard starting when cold 700 1989

My son's 89 740 with the B234F starts hard when cold. It'll crank for 3-5 seconds, start, idle roughly for 3-5 seconds, then smooth out and run fine. Once warm all is good when restarting, but if she cools down, the same rough stuff happens again. Where and what should I be looking at?
