IAC Valve cleanning 900

To do a thorough cleaning I take the IAC motor off the car. I spray carb cleaner inside one of the side openings while keeping my thumb over the other open side. I shake it up and dump it out. Repeat on both sides until it comes out clean. When you look inside you will see a rotating "door" that slides to cover or uncover the opening. I also move it to both the open and closed positions to clean it--use something that won't scratch the valve to move it (I use one of those wooden barbecue skewers). The actual electronics don't actually get cleaned, although the motor contacts do. All in all its a pretty easy job, the worst part is taking it off the car and putting it back on.
