Found an ECU in a parts car--maybe. 200 1992

I don't blame you for wanting a spare if you can get one inexpensively. If nothing else, it's great to have one for diagnosis when you have a problem. An ECU is so easy to swap to confirm eliminate that as your issue.

But, I have to say that my friend has an '89 740 with 140K and the dread pink label 561 that is going fine. My spare it also a pink that I got out of a '90 with 145K at the pick-n-pull and it worked fine for a while in my car too. (When I bought my '89, it already had a 951 in it.)

My point is that there are a lot of still "good" pink labels out there and I wonder if maybe all the bad ones failed fairly early so the remaining ones can be considered relatively trustworthy.
