European glass lens 240 Cibie/Volvo headlights

I picked up a pair of these off of a junker 242. Got them, the mounting plates and the surrounds free; however, one of them (driver's side in front of the battery) has corrosion on the top of the light; and it's bad enough that the some water has gotten through and has begun to rust inside the bottom of the light bucket.

Anyone have any experience restoring these things? Is it possible to remove the lens (appears to just be siliconed into the housing), repair the bucket and have it re-chromed on the inside?
