European glass lens 240 Cibie/Volvo headlights

The original lamps (post-1981 Euro cars) consist of thre parts; glass, housing and reflector. The reflector is fixed to the housing with three white plastic clips, and the glass is fixed to the housing with several metal clips (one doubles as a wiper stop).

The metal clips can be just pried off with a screwdriver. There is a plastic(/foam) gasket between glass and housing. Now you have access to the reflector. Twist the white plastic clips 90 deg to unlock - but have new ones ready, usually the old ones tend to break - and the reflector is free.

As for repairing the reflector; over here I would just get a new or used one. Re-chroming sounds expensive, but I might be wrong.

Erling.
