Rough running 200 1989

Hi everyone,
For the past three weeks my 1989 240 dl wagon has been layed up at the garage. The symptoms are a very rough idle, low power and hestitation. My mechanic threw on a new fuel pressure regulator (it needed it) and tried a rebuilt Air Mass Meter to no avail. He said it could be a faulty oxygen sensor. Do these symtoms sound like that's what it would be. The sensor itself was replaced 2years ago and I understand they last around 60000Kms. All the usual stuff has been checked the wire plugs, cap. Please give me some answers.

Thanks and happy new year.
