sqeaky clutch pedal in 86 volvo 245 wagon 200 1986

I had the same problem on my '80 245 for a while.

I replaced the clutch cable.

DO NOT go cheap on this part. I did in the past, and it was a nightmare.

First, the after market cable was so bad that it was squeaky as hell, and it felt about 10 times heavier then the Volvo cable does.

The after market cable put so much pressure on the firewall that it actually PULLED THROUGH the firewall. I ended up having to weld washers to my firewall to regain support.

After all of that, the damn cable snapped on me. This was all within about a year.

I finally broke down and bought the $100 Volvo cable from the dealer. I put it on, and it's a world of difference. The car shifts PERFECTLY now. It's smooth as ever, and there is no squeaking at all!

I realize it's 3 times the price of that after market cable, but it's worth every penny.

Save your self the headache and do this job the right way.

Good luck!
