Found Problem! Re: '88 760 GLE Turbo will not start! 700

I want to thank everyone who has replied to my post about the '88 760 Turbo Wagon that I cannot get to start. Using some of this input, I pulled the injector rail up and used some of my wife's good water glasses to see if the injectors were squirting while we cranked the engine over. When the car cranked, I got a big blowby up the injector hole on number two. I then pulled the head and found the head gasket blown between one and two, and two and three cylinders.

Had I not found the timing belt off two teeth when I checked, I would have looked at the low compression differently, and pulled the head days ago.

I'm certainly glad that my '93 940 is not a Turbo! It has 248,000 miles and just carried us all to Western Kentucky for a week long retreat. 23 MPG at 75-80 MPH with five passengers and luggage, and no oil consumption!

Thanks,

Will Dallas
