Condensation, or what the... 700

Lots of rain, I am suspecting. My 740 86 turbo is used to dry weather in L.A. Gas tank was less than an 8th tank while it pores out for two days or so while car sat parked for 4 days. First day back driving, I fill tank past 3/4. Drive a few miles, stop, turn of engine. Sits a couple minutes and when I start up and fart, poot, etc. NO POWER, no gas from peddle. Can a gas tank collect enough moisture that when I added to the tank, it's pushing water through. Already, poured a fuel system dryer in and let it sit overnight. Bam, first thing this morning, starts right up, warms up fine. Give it a go around the block, and no problems. Park sits 8 hours. Decide on a drive to grocery, two miles, no problem. Go in grocery, 10 minutes, start up again and poot, fart, no fuggin gas from peddle. Hobble it home, to embarrassed to call a tow this time.
Is there a cure? Sound like water in tank? Thanks to anyone!!!
