Broken hard fuel supply line to injector rail........BUMMER 200 1986

Somehow, I knew this was going to happen soon....and it did it today. I have an '86 240DL sedan that just turned 302K miles. Today I finished the last thing on my list of the major service, that being the fuel filter. Last time I replaced it (275K) I noticed the hard fuel line that comes out of the back of the filter and travels up to the fuel rail had a slight kink in it. I figured that pretty soon that site would fail and I would have to replace the line. Well, that kink made it OK, but the hard line that attaches into the banjo end started to get wet.I tried to put a small hose clamp on it, but it must be heat welded to the banjo so there is no way to tighten it. I won't be able to go to the bone yard until Saturday. I'll keep an eye on it until then. For the few bucks they'll charge me, I get 2 of them along with the short on that jumps between the other end of the filter to the fuel pump. I wonder how much a new one from the dealer would be. Probably big $$$$$$$$.

Keep on brickin'
