Did my parents get ripped off? 200

Please excuse the non-Volvo question, but in a reasonable amount of online searching I could not find a site that was a comprehensive parts source for American cars (except remanufactured). Am hoping someone here can help.

They had to replace the brake master cylinder on their 1997 Grand Marquis. Yeah, I know, and they almost bought an S90 instead, but the trunk wasn't big enough.

So the indy shop charged them $203 for the PART! Plus labor, plus an oil and filter change they didn't need or ask for, plus...

It's the master cylinder price that has me most steamed. FCP Groton quotes $109 for the 240 system with ABS. I realize online prices will be cheaper than a repair shop will charge, but all the same, we're talking about a Mercury! Are American car repairs now a bigger gouge than Volvos?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Doug Harvey
