Volvo Mechanic in Nashville 900 1993

For what its worth, after my last experience with Waltrip, I've decided to do whatever work possible myself. The last time I changed the oil, I noticed that the front exhaust manifold gasket was failing. This seems like a simple fix to me but I was short on time, so I took it in to them. While they were doing the work, the stud broke off in the manifold and needed to be extracted. I'm not saying that they were directly responsible for twisting off the stud, but they put it back together without extracting and replacing the stud and then asked me if I wanted to replace it. The service guy told me that it wasn't leaking exhaust, so it should be okay. Can anyone tell me that that is a responsible thing to do? I had them take it off again, extract the stud, and replace it. After all of this, they re-used the original nuts (after I asked them to replace at $2/each.) I wanted the job done right, which is why I took my baby to the dealership. The very fact that they de-emphasized the significance of this part didn't sit very well with me.

Additionally, they told me that the Radiator needed to be replaced because it was leaking coolant. I found the spot the service guy was referring to, which was where the hose and radiator meet. All it needed was a new hose and clamp, but he quoted me a price for replacing the radiator. I bought my car new and have driven it 170,000 hastle-free miles. In my opinion, if my baby were left to the devices of this particular dealership, it would never see 200K.
