It wasn't the fuel pump. It is an electrical problem - PLEASE HELP! 700 1990

Ok, my older brother checked out the original fuel pump by connecting it to his car battery - the fuel pump made no sound. My dad and i removed the fuel pump, replaced it with one that we knew was good and then - when the car didnt start checked out the old one. The old fuel pump worked.

The fuel gauge is not 'working' when the key is in the 2nd position. I'm thinking that it is an electrical problem. We have checked the relays, we checked the little black box under the hood (i forgot what it's called), and we checked the fuses.

At this point i am beyond frustrated. I had my licensce for 2 weeks and then my car dies on me.

ALL help is welcome and appreciated.

Thanks again, Elad
