Intake Manifold Possibly Overtorqued - Consequences? 700

Hello,

Just got my intake manifold back on my 1988 760 turbo after fixing the problem described in one of my other posts: http://www.brickboard.com/RWD/index.htm?id=895813

I tried to torque the intake manifold nuts to 15 lbs. as recommended. The torque wrench never clicked to let me know I reached this level and I'm afraid that I may have overtightened the nuts as I was really cranking on them. What are the possible problems with this? The engine seems to run fine. I would like to back off the nuts and try to retorque, but I'm concerned that I won't get a good seal because either the gasket was compressed too much to rebound to its original thickness or I may have twisted the manifold itself (warped it). Also, would I have to replace the studs because of possible stretching? What are the possible repercussions of overtightened intake mainfold nuts?

Thanks for your help!
