dangling connector near block on 93 940 turbo 900 1993

I just bought a 93 940 turbo, and noticed that there is a 2-pin connector hanging just under the head near cylinder #2. There is a sensor in the head/block right there, but it has a cable on it already.

The connector is the style used on the IAC valve or TPS, and the cable has a rubber bellows-like jacket on it. Its cable is tied at one point into the harness that leads off to the alternator, although I couldn't tell exactly whether the wire for this mystery connector runs there.

Can anyone tell me what this connector is for?
