2 door rear side panel 120-130

I am in the process of replacing the side panel upholstery on a 2 door. Front door panels are no problems as the upholstery/panels come as the one unit and is just a matter of slotting onto the door. I have just purchased the rear side upholstery but my cardboard panel is badly out of shape and not worth using as a base for the new upholstery. I have just been to an auto trimmer who has said he can make the new panels but out of sheet aluminium - for a price mind you. Does anyone know if this is a suitable option or whether the cardboard panels are still available.
