When should auxiliary belt tensioner be replaced 900 1993

My 93 964 has 95K miles. How can I tell if the auxiliary belt tensioner needs replacement and if has been replaced before?

The part numbers that I found are:
Tensioner - Volvo 6842019 USA 3
Pulley - Dayco NTN 6203LH

How much fore and aft play should it have?
I pushed on it with the engine running and the pulley moved back more than half the width of the belt.

I just replaced the belt tensioner on my 1997 V8 Chevrolet and it was tight.
Should the Volvo have this much play?

The pulley bearing sound pretty good when spinning it manually.

The belt doesn't make noise after startup and it can be depressed just a tiny bit.

I am presently trying to remove the hex screw and pulley. They are very tight.

I would like to open this up and lubricate it. Does it matter what kind of grease that I use?

Thank you,
Michael Diamante
