Someone buy me a Volvo. Anyone!

OK. I'm stuck. My trusty (a bit rusted) '79 wagon was recently murdered by a neighbors cottonwood tree. I just settled with the insurance for $1700 (and I got to keep my wagon wich is mechanically unharmed (couple of windows gone, body wasted).

I'll have a total budget of 3k. I loved my 240. I like the style of the 100 series as well. I am a bit frightened of turbo wagons because of reliability issues and gas$$$. I prefer a stick. I have a big family so a third seat and lots of room for the occasional family outing. (already got a mini van).

I once test drove a 76o turbo (wagon) the comfort was nice. it seemed roomier. It didn't look like a volvo. The nivomats were sagging a bit, so it drove like a fast lazyboy recliner.

Never drove a 940 but they enjoy a good rep. I like the look. Is it reliable though>

Ok thats the facts. Now I need somebody out there to find me a good wagon. I simply cannot decide. Please advise.
