Window Tint Blues

I agree with the comment from the Michigan poster. Most states only prohibit tint from the front side windows and windshield, IF the car is equipped with left and right side view mirrors. The same rule as in a pickup: if you can see behind from both sides, you can legally drive the car with an obstructed rear view mirror.

Another important point to remember, if you remove the film from a side window that rolls up and down, don't raise / lower the window before you remove the adhesive from the glass. If the felt/rubber window wiper on the inner door panel gets the adhesive on it, you will basically reapply adhesive to the window every time you raise and lower it after that. I had to do this on windows that had professionally applied tint on them and the pros use a heavy adhesive that dries clear. It took a lot of work to get all of it off, the best tool was a single edge razor blade and windex. The adhesive comes off in a really gross, mucous like consistency.
