Steering rack/tie rod confuision. 900 1993

The steering rack on my '93 945 started leaking very badly, so I found a decent used rack. The thing that gets me is I wanted to swap inner tie rods since mine were newer. Mine didnt fit, the threaded end of my rod was too small. Now what I dont get is this. Both are Koyo marked racks, both have the same part # and the used one supposedly came from a '93 940 like mine. But the inner tie rods are different. I had to reuse the the rods that it came with and unfortunately one of them has play. I called up a local auto parts store and they show only one part #. Where can I get a replacement tie rod for this mystery rack now?
