Rear Main leaks no more 700 1990

I am sporadic frequent poster that has not been on in a while (work has been crazy) but I wanted to post a success story. I bought a charity auction 1990 760 turbo wagon 220K miles about 9 months ago. The car had numerous small problems but was basically solid.

The #1 concern was a fairly substantial rear main leak to the tune of about 1 Qt every 600 miles. After replacing all the vac lines, removing and cleaning the oil seperator on the crank case breather assembly and driving the snot out of the car...she does not leak anymore. After the third oil change I am down to a loss of less then a quart at 2000 miles.

I am still tracking down the intermitent stalling issue, but resoldering the FP relay and the two relays under the hood (radio suppression relay and the fan relay?) has limitted the occurence to the point that it is even impossible to test. It has only happenned twice in the last 6000 miles.

Without this board such simple and successful fixes would not be possible. Although I still mildly regret not waiting to find the perfect late model 240, I am loving having a RWD Volvo again.

Now I just have to find someone to replace the headliner for a song as it has become completely detached...I miss the stretched pleather hedliner of my 240's.

Thanks again,

Onkle Udo

PS Another reason I have not been posting is my new project, a 1979 BMW R100RT straight from 7 years in a barn. I can't wait to have the motorcycle equivalent of a Volvo (in my opinion) on the road for spring!
