Damage to my AMM....any future problems? 200 1986

While replacing the air filter on my '86 240 sedan, I removed the little plastic elbow that connects to the AMM so I have the room. I always seem to fight a little in replacing the elbow, but yesterday part of the screen mesh on the face of the AMM got pushed in and distorted and torn a little, but is still intact. Will this cause it any problems? I see FCP has a reman for about $155 and would and could hunt for a low mileage one in the boneyard if I needed to. I have 303K miles on the original unit now.

Thanks for your advice in advance.
