Rough idle, red lights, dies on occasion? 200

Some time ago I posted about my 85 240 DL having a rough idle problem, got several suggestions but none worked. I have more weird problems to go with the rough idle at times...........Sometimes when you start the car it won't stay started. When you put it into reverse sometimes it dies and when you finally get it on the road it runs rough like it wants to die. Occasionally when you come to a stop sign or round a corner it dies but starts up right away and goes. It might run good for 2 days then exhibit these symptoms. Tonight when I was coming back from skiing, I was going about 65 mph and all the red dash lights came on.. from the sond light all the way across to the check engine light, the light sequence that happens if the engine dies.........but the car continued to run ok. I put it in neutral and turned it off then started it again as I was driving. lights went off. A while later the lights came back on for an instant then back off again. Is this car possesed? Or should I be looking at the wiring harness possibly? ANy and all help would be appreciated.
