Follow-up: My wife's 945 is totalled, now it's fixed... 900 1993

Hi, all. Just wanted to post a follow-up to my posts from just before Thanksgiving. To recap, my wife hit a deer on a rural road in Montgomery county, MD. The damage was not that extensive as the speed of impact was not very high and my wife breaked as much as she could as soon as she could (this was not good enough for the deer, though). The radiator grill was smashed, so was the right hand side headlight assembly. Also the hood got bent, the AC condenser damaged and the radiator bracket was bent backwards toward the engine. The radiator and the radiator fan never touched the engine and did not need replacement. The insurance company totalled the car and I "bought" it back from them for $169 and had it fixed. The car was drivavle after the accident, so there was no damage to the drivetrain. Just some sheet metal (radiator bracket, hood) and the stuff that actually came in contact with the animal. As fortune would have it, the previous owner of the this car has upgraded the headlights to E-code and I had a tough time locating just the right side for replacement. So, I ended up reverting to the DOT headlights from the 960 (the kind with fogs). This left me with a perfectly good used E-code headlight assembly as a spare. I may try to sell it. Now that the car is back in running condition we are very happy to have her back. There is no substitution for a 940 wagon with a 3rd seat.

Thanks to all who answered some of my questions about body shops, etc. in Montgomery county (I am new to the area).

Next project is to get to the root of the intermittent AC operation. I believe from reading some archives that it is in the control panel on the PCB or relay. Will try to track that down before summer.

Best to all!
