Replace plastic trim around automatic shift lever 200 1983

VolvoKurt,

On your back under the car, unbolt the Shift Lever. This is a good time to replace the White Nylon Bushing, which keeps the Shifter from making vibration noise. The Shifter will unscrew from the Metal Cup. With the assembly in hand, you will find a small roll pin between the Fork retaining the Shifter Knob. Easy job. While you are at it how is the Neutral Safety Switch? Your Reverse Lights come off that, as well. There are Alignment Marks on the side of the Switch.
