New noise and vibe after exhaust replace. Why? 900

I just recently had the exhaust on my 94 945 replaced. Everything but the header and the catalytic converter.

Now my exhaust leak is gone, but the car seems to vibrate in a funny way and I hear noises I never heard before.

My mechanic says he replaced all the hangers, that some of the old ones were no longer working.

I wonder if this might partly account for the vibration I feel. I wonder if the tightened new mounts between the exhaust and body might be transmitting more vibration to the inside of the car.

It almost sounds like it has an air leak that is causing the engine to pulse a little, or a loose spark plug wire. I'll check those things.

But this is weird. Anyone else seen this before?
