Update on 83 245 wreck & insurance 200 1983

Here's an update on my wrecked 245. I got the insurance company to see my point of view. I faxed them prices and values of some cars for sale on ipdusa and here. They are now going to pay me the $1675 I was asking instead of the $1140 they wanted to pay. It pays to be diligient and annoying. :)
I bought a 90 245 brick last weekend, so I have a couple of questions. Is the tach/clock swap a plug and play issue? I did this swap in my 83 and it was very simple. I am ok with the non-flat black tach as they are hard to come by. Do I need an 86/newer tach or can I use one from any 81-up?
Also, it pays to change the timing belt as soon as you buy a new car. The belt in my 90 broke the day after I bought it. I have already fixed that issue and am sorting out the rest of the car.
Thanks for all the help
