how important is alignment

replacing tires generally doesnt affect aligment
because you take your weels of and put them on again
but it can be checked then

when you raplace a steering rod
alignment will 100% sure be wrong
no way you can check this DIY

I have this experienced
front left tie rod replaced DIY and
after 5000 km my left tire worn down to the rope at one point
=> new tires + alignment
