Electrical Help 200

The only place the fuses should be is in the fuse panel near the driver's door jamb; spares are stored at the bottom of it.

Could be someone has been in your shifter before you, or I could envision the 2721 lamp used in it to be mistaken for a fuse.

If the lamp supply got shorted out after working on it, fuse #16 should be the one to replace - 8A. But sometimes the dimmer fails instead, especially if the 8A fuse was replaced with a larger value.

Truth is, you don't really run those lamps dimmer than full brightness, do you? If the dimmer is bad you can just take the wires on the back of it and connect them together. Yours might look like this one, where two of the terminals are as one- making the bypass an easy job.
