Help no spark from coil 200 1982

No spark coming from coil to dist. cap. removed the coil wire from the distributer cap, held the wire above the cap, and had a friend crank the car to see if there was a spark; Nothing, yet all of the terminals coming off the coil itself are powered I've checked with a volt meter? The coil and the wire are both brand new. I have three wires coming off of my coil: Red, red/white and black. Black is the ground, I think the redv goes to the starter, and the red/white goes inside the car (drivers side) but it is unhooked, and I don't know where it goes, Volvo dealer said it wasn't needed, and that it went to the tach. I don't have a tach! In my original Volvo owners manuel it says that fuse 5 and 7 are for the fuel, they're both good!
